Separation Anxiety

Losing a loved one, whether through death or separation, may be one of life's most emotionally painful experiences. But it's a universal one, as natural a part of the cycle as the love that you shared.

When an object of love is lost, a myriad of feelings collectively referred to as bereavement occurs. The key to coping with these feelings is to not avoid them. They're painful, but fully addressing them is the healthiest way through them.

Using the approach that you'll learn in Self Therapy can help a lot in this process. It might seem unbearable at first - but even if you can apply the method to the feelings for just a few seconds, that's a good start. It's difficult, and we won't say anything to imply otherwise - but some motivation might be found in realizing that the clearest reflection of the past, and closest connection to it, comes through experiencing those feelings of loss that right now seem so overwhelming.
